How to Disable/Enable Startup Apps on Windows 10/11

Isn’t it annoying that some apps on your system just open on their own as soon as you boot up? Some of them open an app as full window, and others are minimized in the background, and they consume an amount of your system’s resources.

Well, you can easily disable them with just two ways.

Via Settings

  • Open the Settings, or press the Windows key + I
  • Click on Apps from the array on the left
  • And click ‘Startup’ at the bottom
  • You should now see a list of your installed apps
  • Simply toggle the button of each app that you want to not launch at startup

Via Task Manager

  • Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the Windows button on Windows 11 or right-clicking the taskbar on Windows 10
  • Then find the ‘Task Manager’ and click on it
  • Alternatively, an easier way is to use the shortcut key: Ctrl + Shift + Esc
  • Upon opening, click on the ‘Startup’ tab on the upper portion
  • You should now see the same list of installed apps
  • Simply select an app and on the bottom-right corner, toggle on the enable/disable option
