The Xiaomi Redmi 4X is one of the older smartphones before the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X came about. It has a 5” HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Snapdragon 435 chipset, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera, and a 4,100mAh battery to power it up.
The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max was released last month and has been garnering fame from the community ever since. It has a 5.5” HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Snapdragon 430 chipset, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, a 13MP main + 5MP wide-angle Phase Detection Autofocus rear camera with LED flash, an 8MP front camera with LED flash, and a 5,000mAH battery to power up the device.

From the specs alone, we can say that the Zenfone 4 Max has better overall performance (including battery life) compared to the Redmi 4X. Both smartphones’ chipsets are almost the same, the only difference is that the Snapdragon 435 supports faster LTE speeds as compared with the Snapdragon 430.
For their battery performance, we do not have a review yet for the Redmi 4X but based on paper, the Zenfone 4 Max has the upper hand in terms of its lifespan since it is equipped with 5,000mAh battery compared to the 4,100 of the former.
For their camera quality, we can say that the Zenfone 4 Max offers more features since it has a dual rear camera with a wide-angle lens. As for their front camera, Zenfone 4 Max’s camera resolution is higher than that of the Redmi 4X. Check out our review of the ASUS Zenfone 4 Max here.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4X is priced at Php7,580 (see price listing here). The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max is priced at Php9,995 (see price listing here). Comparing their prices, the Xiaomi Redmi 4X is better in terms of price to performance since it is cheaper than the Zenfone 4 Max.
