The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a community favorite since it has good specs for a reasonable price. It has a 6.44″ IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a Snapdragon 625 chipset, 64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, 12MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP wide-angle front camera, and a 5,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The Lenovo Vibe P2 has been around since last year. It has a 5.5″ AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a Snapdragon 625 chipset, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 5MP front camera, and 5,100mAh battery with Fast Charge technology.

From specs alone, we can see that they are almost alike but let’s look at the different aspects and check which device has the upper hand.
In terms of display, the Mi Max 2 has a larger screen size compared to the P2. Even though having a larger screen size gives better viewing experience, there is a trade-off to it. Users may have a hard time holding Xiaomi’s offering due to its 6.44-inch size especially when they are fond of traveling. This is where Lenovo’s 5.5-inch device has an advantage since it can easily fit in your pockets and is a more viable companion for outdoor activities.
In terms of CPU and GPU, both smartphones are equipped with the same Snapdragon 625 chipset with an Adreno 506 GPU. This chipset is somewhat a standard for mid-range smartphones since it performs very well in day-to-day tasks and it is also known for its power efficiency. The GPU has good gaming potential and can run almost any game from mid to high tier.
For the camera department, their camera resolutions do not have a significant gap but since we do not have a review for the P2 yet, we cannot say for certain if it has a good photo quality. Now, let us check out their monster battery capacities. Both smartphones have a massive battery capacity. The Mi Max 2 has a 5,300mAh which is slightly higher than that of the Vibe P2’s 5,100mAh one. Both devices have fast charging technology which means that users don’t have to worry about charge times too much. However, we have not yet conducted a review for the P2 but on paper, we can see that the device will most likely have a longer battery life compared to the Mi Max 2 because of its screen size.
Overall, both smartphones are almost at par with each other but the evident difference is their screen size which will be the defining factor for users. In this case, readers will just have to pick their own poison since theoretically, they have the same performance and gaming potential.
