| Vivo Y69 or ASUS Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL)?

This match is between two newly released smartphones, each with its own different take on key features. Let’s start!

The Vivo Y69 has just been made official, and will be coming to the Philippines next month. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, MediaTek MT6750 chipset, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, a 16MP front camera with on-screen flash, a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 3,000mAh battery to power up the device.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max has been a fan favorite ever since it has been released. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Snapdragon 430 chipset, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, Dual 13MP Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF) Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) rear camera (main + wide-angle) with LED flash, an 8MP front camera with LED flash, and boasts a large 5,000mAh battery.

Here are their detailed specs.

Here are the advantages for each smartphone:

Vivo Y69

+ Better performing GPU

+ Higher front camera resolution

ASUS Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL)

+ Better performing CPU

+ Dual 13MP rear camera with one wide-angle lens

+ Android 7.1.1 out of the box

+ Larger battery

Both smartphones have the same screen, internal storage, and RAM, however, there is a difference in other aspects.

The Vivo Y69 has a Mali-T860 GPU which performs better than Zenfone 4 Max’s Adreno 505. This means that the Y69 provides better gaming performance. It positions its selfie camera as its main feature just like with the Vivo V5 series, and outmatches the Zenfone 4 Max’s front camera. We do not have any reviews for the Vivo Y69 as of the moment, but on paper, this is a good selfie-centric smartphone for an affordable price.

The Zenfone 4 Max, on the other hand, has a better performing CPU in its Snapdragon 430, while the Y69 packs a MediaTek MT6750 of the Vivo Y69. Its dual rear cameras provide good options for users when they take photos. You can check out some sample photos we took with the Zenfone 4 Max over at our review (click here). It also has a large 5,000mAh battery that will last much longer than the Y69.

Overall, performance-wise, Zenfone 4 Max is the clear choice for this match. The Vivo Y69 may have a better GPU for gaming, however, the power efficiency of the Zenfone 4 Max’s Snapdragon 430 makes it a better choice when it comes to daily tasks, even gaming. That, coupled with its large 5,000mAh battery, gives you a phone that will perform well and last all day long. You’re also up to date on the software side of things, as it comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

If the user’s preference is a phone that’s great for selfies, then Vivo Y69 is a better choice in terms of specs. It has a 16MP front camera which is a significant camera resolution upgrade over the Zenfone 4 Max’s front camera.

The Vivo Y69 will be arriving in the Philippines next month and will be priced at Php10,990 according to our sources. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max (ZC554KL) is available in the Philippines with a price tag of Php9,995.
