Step 2: Backing up your Mac

It’s always a great idea to back up your data before updating. This step is completely up to you on how you’d like to back up all the data on your Mac. Whether it be through cloud storage, an external drive, or through Time Machine.

Step 3: Software Update to macOS Ventura

  1. Head to System Preferences by clicking the Apple Menu  on the top left corner of your screen
  2. Then click Software Update
  3. Once it has found macOS Ventura, click Upgrade Now to download the installer
  4. Wait for the installer to finish downloading
  5. Once the installer has finished downloading, you will see a pop-up on your Mac to start the installation process.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing macOS Ventura

However, if you don’t see the Software Update due to it being an older Mac, you may try the following steps:

  1. Open the App Store app
  2. Click the Updates Tab in the App Store to check for updates
  3. Alternatively, you can search for macOS Ventura on the App Store
