Can the Apple Watch Ultra 2 sold in the Philippines be used in the USA? – AskYuga #19

Yun po bang Binebenta na Apple watch Ultra 2 sa Philippines pedeng magamit sa USA? Salamat po – Rey John Cruz

According to a support article from Apple, there are two separate cellular models for Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

These are “optimized for use in the country of purchase” and that not all models will work in all countries or regions. Additionally, no single model supports cellular service worldwide.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 Model A2986, A2987

Taking a closer look at said separate cellular models, specifically on the Apple Watch Ultra, we have Models A2987 and A2986. The Model A2987 is primarily optimized for China, Hong Kong, and Macao.

As for the other variant, the Model A2986, according to the tabulation Apple provided, supports both Philippines and the United States. However, note that some network bands are missing on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 offered for the Philippines, despite having the same model number as with the US offering.

With this info, we can assume that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 sold in the Philippines is usable in the US, but since some network bands are missing, your choices of compatible US telco might be limited.

There’s always international roaming

If that assumption turns out to be false, then you still have the option to use an Apple Watch Ultra 2 from PH to use in US through international roaming. The service is only available through Globe though.

Otherwise, get the US model of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 itself, so that you’re assured that it’s certainly going to work with US networks.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
