High-end flagship nowadays usually boasts 120Hz panels. While gaming phones such as the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate can reach up to 165Hz refresh rate.

So far, one smartphone has broken the usual threshold and that is the Sharp Aquos Zero 2. Released in 2020, this smartphone’s 6.4-inch OLED display boasts a whopping 240Hz refresh rate.

This is the fastest refresh yet on a smartphone and was possible on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855—the 7-nanometer chipset that the Aquos Zero 2 used.

However, the device didn’t launch globally and was only exclusive in Japan.
